The Antico Pastificio Rosetano was founded in 1898 by Luigi Verrigni who supplied the noble families of Rosburgo, today's Roseto degli Abruzzi (Teramo), with its fine artisan pasta. The superior quality of Verrigni pasta, obtained by grinding the grains with stone millstones, mixed with Gran Sasso water and air-dried on bamboo canes, began to be recognized in other Italian regions as well, so much so that Gaetano Verrigni , Luigi's son, to experiment drying methods through the use of “dressing rooms”, equipped with current fans and heat sources necessary to create a constant temperature.

With the same passion of the founders, in 2008 Gaetano Verrigni and Francesca Petrei Castelli took over the leadership of the company, continuing this adventure in the name of renewal and respect for the experience of the past. A success consolidated by the love of both for pasta and which finds sublime expression in the quality of Verrigni products. The superior quality is determined, in fact, by the choice to base its production process in the selection of the best durum wheat, only Italian, which are grown and harvested mainly in Abruzzo, in Francesca's farm but also by the farmer friend and famous winemaker. Francesco Paolo Valentini (Verrigni Valentini line). Some of the changes adopted by the new management, from the choice of new and more essential packaging, from the expansion of the distribution network, to the innovative introduction of the gold die, have allowed the company to consolidate its position on the market.

In the Eighties Verrigni was one of the very few Italian pasta factories to offer certified organic pasta that earned him a position of respect in the European panorama, especially in the nations most sensitive to organic products (Germany, England, Scandinavian countries). Now the shapes characterize a new aspect of research that leads the Abruzzo company to offer a new, original and interesting sector of Italian pasta. The square formats, the Spaghettoalvolo, still some formats in planning make Verrigni the historical but modern company that offers the novelty, but realizes it with the experience of more than a century of experimentation and awareness.
