The region’s quintessential white is Trebbiano d’Abruzzo: shimmering straw yellow with a typical cool aroma and flavour, with base-notes of flowers and ripe apple. Rather more accentuated nuances, with notes of citrus fruit and meadow, on the other hand, come from the excellent whites made with Passerina (mainly in the Teramo district), Cococciola (in the Province of Chieti) and Pecorino grapes, the latter found all over the region.
