Abruzzese Coriander Honey - 250 Gr

Coriander honey represents a novelty in single-flower production, as the plant, originally from Eastern Europe and the Middle East, has recently been cultivated in Italian territories for the production of the seeds of the homonymous spice. It is a medicinal herbaceous species that resembles parsley: it has green leaves and small white flowers that grow in an umbrella-like manner.

The latter are rich in nectar and therefore highly appreciated by bees. The extracted honey crystallizes in a short time and takes on an amber color; its smell is very characteristic and recalls coconut-based food or cosmetics.

OUR CORIANDER HONEY IS COLLECTED FROM HIVE LOCATED IN ABRUZZO, PUGLIA AND MOLISE.

Color: amber, pale orange

Tendency to crystallization: medium

Odor: aromatic, vegetable, warm

Aroma: refreshing, similar to leaves

Taste: moderately sweet, slightly acid, with not perceptible bitter notes

Uses: Delicious to accompany meats, especially beef and chicken. Thanks to the consistency of slightly thick crystals, it goes well with aged cheeses. It is an ideal sweetener for teas and infusions of various types. It is often used in the production of nougats.

Some curiosities: in the 14th century in Venice, during the Carnival, the coriander fruits were caramelized and thrown as a sign of good omen. Hence the origin of the paper confetti.
