Cantine Mucci: history, excellence and passion for wine

Since 1895, following the tradition, but always with a keen eye for innovation, Cantine Mucci has maintained a careful management of the vineyards, obtaining products of excellent quality and perfectly harmonized with the environment from which they derive. The history of Cantine Mucci is a story of wines, land and people. It all began in 1895 when Luigi Mucci graduated in oenology from the Royal Agricultural Institute of Scerni (CH). He immediately dedicated himself to the cultivation of vines and the production of wine in the family business. Then come the son Tommaso Mucci, Valentino's father, Nicola's son again, and finally the young Aurelia and Valentino.

Today dad Nicola, despite having left ample space for his children, still represents a point of reference for experience and skills, and above all he takes care of all the work in the vineyard. The latest generation, Aurelia and Valentino, has been following in particular the production and marketing phases since 1996. In 1982, grandfather Valentino restarted the farm and 1984 was the first year of bottling. Valentino is the name of the first line and is still in use now.

The company logo is a knight with a lance that marks all the lines produced. This image comes from a very brave legendary Viking leader, also named "Valiant" just like the name that his grandfather and grandson bear. With the arrival in 1996 of the new generation, a different corporate image was built, thanks also to the arrival in 1999 of the consultant Dr. Winemaker Leone Cantarini, revisiting and expanding the range of wines produced.

Today the total production is around 250. 000 bottles per year (variable data). Thus the company experiences significant sales growth both in Italy and abroad. The company consists of 20 hectares of which 16 are vineyards and the winery almost exclusively makes wine from the company. All the vineyards are on the hills around Torino di Sangro. Vines are grown such as Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Pecorino and Falanghina.
