Italian Sunflower Honey - 250 Gr

Sunflower honey, due to its origin from the plant of the same name and due to its association with the bright summer sun, is recognized first of all by its bright yellow color, when liquid, and luminescent yellow when solid. The sunflower is a species native to South America and spread mainly in central Italy, where extensive plantations characterize the landscape.

It belongs to the category of low-aromatic honeys and is rich in glucose, a component on which its rapid crystallization depends. Smell and aroma are quite similar: a vegetal note prevails, a smell of hay and grass. It is slightly fruity and not very sweet.

OUR SUNFLOWER HONEY IS COLLECTED FROM HIVE LOCATED IN MARCHE AND MOLISE.

Color: bright yellow, intense with golden reflections

Tendency to crystallization: very high

Odor: weak, fruity type: fruit preserves; vegetable: of pollen, of damp straw; oily: aged wax

Aroma: medium or low intensity, similar to odor; not cloying, refreshing, sometimes aggressive in the throat; not very persistent

Taste: not very sweet, medium acid, not perceptible bitter

Uses: due to its delicacy and low sweetness it is a honey appreciated by many, especially in the preparation of recipes with high quantities of honey at the base; for example in traditional sweets (mostaccioli, nougat, cicerchiata).
