Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Doc - Malandrino
Cataldi Madonna's Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo "Malandino" is a true symbol of the great winemaking tradition of the region. It is a rosé obtained from 100% Montepulciano grapes, with good structure and a rich and pulpy, fresh and persistent fruity bouquet. A wine with a great gastronomic vocation, which is well suited to accompany a platter of cold cuts, white meats or seafood dishes with tomato.
The Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo "Malandrino" Cataldi Madonna was born in Ofena, on a flat plateau at an altitude between 320 and 450 meters, on the slopes of the Gran Sasso massif and the Monti della Laga. The area can count on a very particular microclimate, characterized by warm and sunny days, always refreshed by the winds that descend from the mountains and from the nearby Calderone glacier. It is no coincidence that in this area there are the most ancient evidences of vine cultivation in Abruzzo, before its presence spread along the hills of the Adriatic coast. The grapes come from the Montepulciano vineyards grown in the Macerone area, with Abruzzo pergola systems and a density of 1500 plants per hectare.
After a cryomaceration of part of the grapes, fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature of 15-18 ° C. In wine it matures in contact with the fine lees for a few months before being bottled. The "Malandrino" Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo rosé is a classic from the Cataldi Madonna winery. A wine that is part of the Abruzzo tradition and that stands out from products in other areas of Italy for its more intense color, rich aromas and good aromatic persistence, which make it an ideal table companion. The color is intense and bright pink.
The bouquet opens on notes of cherry, strawberry and small red berries. On the palate it has a good structure, with dense and full-bodied fruit, which stretches towards a finish of good persistence and freshness.
